Time In Nature is Good for Your Health (Science Confirms)

A wide array of evidence exists linking nature exposure to improved health outcomes. From reduced recovery time following surgery to reduced ADHD symptomology in children, health improvements in patients with cancer such as increased expression of anti cancer proteins and proven benefits of cardiovascular health such as reduction of hypertension.⠀⠀

⠀⠀

Furthermore, a report published in 2018 reveals that exposure to greenspace reduces the risk of type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, premature death, preterm birth, and has a positive impact on stress and anxiety, even finding that exposure to greenspace significantly reduces people's levels of salivary cortisol (stress hormone). ⠀⠀

⠀⠀

Populations with higher levels of greenspace exposure are also more likely to report good overall health according to global data involving more than 290 million people. *Green space was defined as open, undeveloped land with natural vegetation as well as urban greenspaces, which included urban parks and street greenery. ⠀⠀

⠀⠀

Today was a very special day for me .. I hiked in the Mossman Gorge rainforest in the rain to get to an amazing swimming hole that we had to ourselves and on the way back we met a Shamanic healer who drove us back to the Mossman centre. He was born in the rain forest here, in the water and didn’t have a house until he was 16 years old! How incredibly special this day was! I am forever counting my blessings!
